Juventus 2025-26 Season Preview: Team Updates, New Signings, What to Expect, and More

The Old Lady have begun their latest season on 25th August after a bitter Round of 16 exit in the FIFA Club World Cup. An underwhelming form over the last few seasons has them eyeing for redemption.

The 2024-25 season was a forgettable one for Juve as they finished 4th in Serie A. They reached quarter-finals of Coppa Italia, semi-finals of Supercoppa Italiana and the knockout phase play-off of the UCL. They failed to win any title under mid-season appointed coach Igor Tudor.

New Signings and Team Updates

Juventus have signed seven players as of now, in an attempt to rise back to the top, with multiple returning from their loans elsewhere. Francisco Conceicao is bought permanently after a loan in the 2024-25 season along with forward Nico Gonzalez. Centre-backs Lloyd Kelly and Pierre Kalulu are also permanently signed. The same also applies for the Italian goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.

Centre-forward Jonathan David was bought from Lille on a free transfer and right-back João Mário from Porto for €12.6m. Randal Kolo Muani will be returning to PSG after his loan spell at Juventus. Some other key departures include Nicolo Rovella, Alberto Costa, Nicolo Fagioli and Samuel Mbangula.

What to expect

Juventus will be attempting for at least one title, if not many, this season. Judging by their standards, their unimpressive 2024-25 season meant that coach Igor Tudor will have to prove himself in his first full season at the club.

The signings reinforce the attack and defense. An experienced number 9 like Vlahovic and talented wingers like Yildiz and Conceição will offer width and threat going forward. Defense is reinforced with strong CBs like Kalulu and Kelly.

Tudor will have to perfectly rotate players to balance the multiple different competitions the club will be participating in, aiming triumph in one or more. The league will surely be difficult but the domestic cups can be achieved.

UCL still seems like a far cry but they surely won’t go down without trying. A rather decent transfer window now leaves the rest at the hands of the coach and the players to prove themselves worth the challenge.
