The England Star Slams Club World Cup Conditions, Warns FIFA To Act Before World Cup Next Year.

Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham is currently playing in the Club World Cup. As the tournament continues, he has publicly criticized the playing conditions at the tournament, currently being held in the United States. Bellingham has raised some serious concerns for FIFA with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon.

After Real Madrid’s latest 3-1 win over Pachuca, the England ace voiced his frustration over the poor pitch quality and sweltering heat. Both of these factors he believes can jeopardize player safety and the spectacle of the game. “The pitches aren’t great here, honestly.” Bellingham told Mail Sport

The Los Blancos star added, “It holds up, the ball barely bounces, and it’s tough on the knees as well. Hopefully it’s something that someone will look at going into the World Cup next year. It’s important that we protect the players as well as giving the fans a spectacle.”

Warnings From a England Ace Jude Bellingham

Five of the 12 stadiums that are currently being used in this Club World Cup, are also slated to host matches in the 2026 World Cup. Reports revealed that MetLife Stadium’s turf was laid just five days before kickoff, which prompted more criticism about FIFA’s preparation.

Bellingham’s comments are a direct appeal to the organization to raise its standards well ahead of next summer’s tournament. The World Cup is something that the entire world waits for every four years, so it will need the best of the best quality to run smoothly. Despite the tough conditions, Bellingham continues to play a pivotal role for Real Madrid.

Under the new manager Xabi Alonso, he has been shining. He scored against Pachuca and was named man of the match. He helped Madrid win that match even as they played with ten men from the seventh minute. “It’s five more games of effort,” Bellingham said, referring to the team’s determination to win the title despite the physical toll.

Surgery and a Long-Awaited Recovery

Bellingham especially is enduring the physical toll considering his shoulder issue. The 21-year-old confirmed that he will undergo long-delayed surgery on his left shoulder after the tournament. He first sustained the injury in November 2023 and has since played with a splint. “I’ve been waiting for a long time, and my patience is running out,” he admitted.

Real Madrid have announced that Bellingham is expected to return only by late September or early October. As one of England’s most important players, Bellingham’s warning carries weight. FIFA still have some time for the World Cup next year to begin but they will have to address these concerns from such invaluable players.
