Jimmy Butler Injury Update- How Long Is Jimmy Butler Out For?

The Golden State Warriors recorded their first NBA Playoffs 2025 win without star forward Jimmy Butler. The seven-time champions took down their second-seed counterparts, Houston Rockets, 104-93 in Game 3 of the first-round series to secure a 2-1 lead. Stephen Curry took the charge and dropped 36 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists for the Dubs. While the Rockets aimed to capitalize Butler’s absence, Steve Kerr’s side had some other plans.

The Warriors lost Butler early in Game 2, after the former Miami Heat star suffered a hard fall. He headed to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the Warriors’ 109-94 Game 2 loss. The six-time NBA star flew home from Houston and underwent an MRI, which revealed that he injured his pelvis and a deep gluteal muscle contusion.

Butler was listed questionable for Game 3 in the injury report, but was officially ruled out before the game.

Will Jimmy Butler Play in Game 4?

As action moves on to Game 4 between Warriors and Rockets on Monday, April 28, doubts loom over Butler’s availability. While there is no official update, a report by Anthony Slater suggests that he would be back in action on Monday night as the Dubs are looking for a 3-1 lead. He was ruled out to give his body two more days to heal. Not only this, but Slater also reported that the 35-year-old worked out on the practice court pregame.

Notably, Butler had a memorable playoff debut for the Warriors where he scored 25 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. In Game 2, he tallied three points, and two rebounds, shooting 1-of-2 from the field before walking out. His absence had an instant impact on the Warriors’ gameplay and they ended up on the losing side. Nevertheless, the Dubs are seemingly back in action, and they would aim to advance ahead in the playoffs, aiming to secure the first NBA Championship for Jimmy Butler.
