The 2024-25 NBA trade window has seen significant trades that have reshaped team dynamics and rosters.

The trade window also ended the Jimmy Butler saga with the Miami Heat. He joined the Golden State Warriors in a five-team trade. The Warriors gave up Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, Dennis Schroder and Lindy Waters III alongside multiple draft picks.

Jimmy Butler is averaging 20.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. The Warriors have seen major improvement on offense as they move from 20th in offensive rating to sixth since the trade.

His pick-n-roll game alongside Steph Curry has been fruitful for the Warriors. The attention that Butler demands as a roll player compared to Draymond Green has helped ease Steph Curry’s burden. He is averaging 10.8 two-point field-goal attempts per game, 36th most in the league and shooting 52.4% from inside the line.

Jimmy Butler is averaging 8.8 paint-touches in the league since joining the Warriors (for context Nikola Jokic has 8.2). His foul drawing techniques have been a major boost for the Warriors. They were 30th in the league in FT% and 28th in FTA before the trade. Since the trade, Warriors are second in FT% and ninth in FTA. He is shooting 90% from the line and averaging 9.2 FT attempts per game, fifth best in the league.

Race for playoffs in the Western Conference

The race for playoffs spot heats up in Western Conference. Four-teams are separated by 1.5 games difference as the battle for sixth-place in the conference will go down to the wire.

The revival of Golden State Warriors and inconsistent form of Clippers and Timberwolves has added extra spice to the race. However, the Mavericks without Luka Doncic can also be a dark horse in the race. The Warriors thrashed the Mavericks 126-102 to set the tone for remainder of their season.
