Seventh seed Jasmine Paolini will face unseeded Barbora Krejcikova in the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open 2025. Paolini entered with a first-round bye and quickly found her rhythm, defeating Maria Sakkari and 26th seed Ashlyn Krueger in straight sets. Krejcikova’s route was tougher, with the former world No. 2 needing three sets to overcome Alycia Parks, 10th seed Elina Svitolina, and lucky loser Iva Jovic.

Paolini’s season has been both stellar and streaky. Her crowning moment came in Rome, where she stunned Coco Gauff in straight sets en route to the title, followed by doubles triumphs in Rome and Roland Garros alongside Sara Errani. Semifinal runs in Miami, Stuttgart, and Berlin added to her resume, though early exits have dotted her post-Berlin calendar. In 41 matches this year, she’s struck 55 aces, winning 60.9% of first-serve points and 46.1% on return, and converting 49.3% of break points.

Krejcikova’s campaign has been hampered by a six-month injury layoff. Returning in May at Strasbourg, she managed a strong Eastbourne showing before withdrawing with a thigh issue. Her Wimbledon title defense ended in the third round to Emma Navarro, followed by a Montreal first-round loss.
