Rudra Dubey

Here is everything you should know about Jase Richardson’s parents and background.

Jason “Jase” Richardson Jr. didn’t take long to make his mark in East Lansing. The Michigan State freshman is one of the most highly sought-after recruits. Now, after a breakout season that reignited Spartans basketball, the 6’3″ guard was drafted in the same team of his father. Richardson got selected by the Orlando Magic as the 25th pick in the 2025 NBA draft.

His shot creation and big-game instincts stood out, hallmarks of a player ready for the next stage. Richardson played a crucial role in delivering Michigan State’s first 30-win season since 2019, helping the Spartans clinch a Big Ten regular-season title and power their way to a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Averaging 12.1 points across 36 appearances, he finished second in team scoring and earned a spot on the All-Big Ten third team, the league’s all-freshman team, and the Great Lakes all-district second team.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
