Who Are Jannik Sinner’s Parents?

Jannik Sinner was born in 2001 to Johann and Siglinde Sinner, who first met while working at the Talschlusshütte Hut ski resort in Sexten, Italy. He has an older brother, Mark, born in 1998. Before making his name in tennis, Jannik was a standout skier. He was a national runner-up in giant slalom. But the switch to tennis came naturally, and Sinner credits his parents for giving him the freedom to make that choice.

Following his breakthrough win at the 2024 Australian Open, Sinner delivered a heartfelt tribute:

Who is Jannik Sinner’s Father?

Jannik Sinner’s father is Johann Sinner. He worked as a chef for over 40 years. To stay close to his son during the demanding tour schedule, Johann even joined Jannik’s team as a chef. During the 2023 Indian Wells tournament, Jannik told Tennis Channel, “It’s nice to have him here.”

Following his 2024 Australian Open triumph, Jannik shared that his father still enjoys cooking and occasionally looks after the family restaurant.

“They’re not changing anything with me,” Jannik said. “I’m the normal person who I was when I was a very young kid with a big dream, and now I’m just a 22-year-old [still] with a big dream.”

Jannik Sinner’s mother, Siglinde Sinner, worked as a waitress at the Talschlusshütte Hut ski resort in Sexten, Italy. The same place where she met Johann, Jannik’s father, who was a chef there.

Speaking about her in an interview, Jannik said, “My mom is at home. She tries to help [at] my grandpa’s place so they are always working and that’s what I love about them.” He credits his strong work ethic to his parents, having grown up watching both his mother and father work tirelessly to support him and his older brother, Mark.
