Top seed Jannik Sinner began his Cincinnati campaign with a commanding victory over Daniel Elahi Galan, dispatching the Colombian in just 59 minutes with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 scoreline. Advancing confidently to the third round, Sinner will next face 30th seed Gabriel Diallo. This lightning-fast win marked Sinner’s quickest on the ATP Tour this year, as he eyes a historic title defense, aiming to become the first man since Roger Federer in 2014-15 to successfully repeat at Cincinnati.

Sinner’s 59 Minutes of Precision

Sinner’s ruthless performance came despite the lingering concerns from a fall at Wimbledon, as he sported a protective sleeve on his right arm. “Matches are always more different than practice sessions, so I didn’t know exactly what to expect today,” Sinner said after his win, adding, “But I’m very happy.
