Jakub Mensik vs. Flavio Cobolli Preview

Jakub Mensik had a terrific season so far and the Czech Republican ace claimed the Masters title in March this year. She also became the fastest Czech player to enter into top 20 since Berdych. He overcame Giron in a four-set thriller where he was trailed in fourth set but snatched it in tie-break. Numbers are giving a tough time for Mensik as he hasn’t won a third round match in Grand Slams. Chasing his second-week breakthrough, the 15th-seed player Mensik would look to break the curse in Wimbledon. Mensik has lost 2 set in this tournament to win 54% of the points he played.

Flavio Cobolli reached the third round of the Wimbledon with two straight-set victories over Beibit Zhukayev and Jack Pinnington Jones. However, the draw was slightly easier for him and the big task awaits him in pursuit of the second week. Cobolli won two ATP titles in Bucharest and Hamburg. His recent success at Bad Hamburg was important for the grass-court confidence. He had a quarterfinal run in Halle and posted a 4-2 record on grass this year. Meanwhile, Cobolli’s previous all third-round exits came against the top-10 players and now, the task is against the 15th-seed player.
