Jaguars Lock In Key Receiver: Jakobi Meyers Signs Three-Year Extension

The Jacksonville Jaguars have rewarded wide receiver Jakobi Meyers for his immediate impact, finalizing a three-year contract extension just weeks after acquiring him in a trade. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter the deal locks in the reliable veteran through the 2028 season, ensuring stability for an offense on the rise.

Meyers’ Contract Extension Details

The extension is worth $60 million, with $40 million guaranteed. Meyers, 29, was set to hit free agency after this season following his midseason trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. Acquired ahead of the deadline, Meyers quickly proved his value. Over his career, starting with the New England Patriots in 2019, he amassed 453 receptions for 5,299 yards and 23 touchdowns.

The Jaguars are 5-1 Since Jakobi Meyers Arrival

Since joining Jacksonville, Meyers has played six games, catching 27 of 37 targets for 355 yards and three touchdowns. His sure hands addressed the Jaguars’ early drop issues, providing reliability in a unit plagued by inconsistencies. Meyers excels inside and out, attacks intermediate routes, and contributes in the run game- perfect for Liam Coen’s scheme.

Among wideouts since Week 10, he ranks 12th in receiving yards and 10th in yards per route run (PFF). The Jaguars are 5-1 since the trade, vaulting to first in the AFC South, and are hoping to have a deep playoff run alongside their receiver.
