Jaden Ivey Injury Update: Pistons’ star has sustained a broken Fibula

Jaden Ivey will miss a significant amount of time

Detroit Pistons star, Jaden Ivey has sustained a broken fibula in a 106-95 win against Orlando Magic according to Shams Charania. Before leaving the court on a a stretcher, the 22-year-old scored 22 points on Wednesday night to guide Detroit a fourth win from the last five.

During the fourth quarter, Orlando’s Cole Anthony dove for a loose ball with 10:07 to play and Detroit leading 84-79. Anthony slipped and fell when the former crashed into Ivey’s leg. Pistons guard fell to the floor, grabbing his left shin in pain. Their medical staff rushed to the court and attended Ivey.

Training staff member also joined and they held up towels to block the crowd’s view of the injury. All the players made a circle around Jaden Ivey. It was along delay in the game and then, Ivey left the court stretcher with a towel covering the injury.

Ivey scored at least 17 points and knocked down at least two threes in each of his last four games before facing Magic on Wednesday. His injury will be a huge setback for the Pistons. The 22-year-old had played in at least 74 games for the Detroit Pistons and has been a standout performer in NBA 2024-25. He is averaging 17.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.

Following the injury, Magic sparked a comeback and Carter’s basket with 7:40 remaining cut the Pistons’ lead to three. Detroit came back with an 8-0 run to take a 101-90 lead and Magic failed to cross the line like they did in previous games. Cade Cunningham finished with 19 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Jalen Duren had 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Tobias Harris poured in 17 points and eight rebounds.

For the time being, the franchise has not given a return date or premature end to the season. Indeed, the Pistons are not ruling out a return for Jaden Ivey this season, depending on the franchise’s situation.
