Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy and his partner Katya Kuropas shared exciting news of the couple is expecting their first child. Announcing the celebratory moment on Thursday, McCarthy shared images with her fiance Kuropas flashing the baby bump.

McCarthy who is in a long-term relationship with Kuropas captioned the announcement post: “The best surprises come when you least expect them. Our sweet baby boy is arriving in September and we couldn’t be happier” as the couple is seen posing in safari-themed background.

J.J. McCarthy’s Big Year: Fatherhood and NFL Stardom

McCarthy who is preparing for a pivotal year is being applauded for the timing of the announcement. Starting a family with Kuropas, the QB has always seen her fiance remain a constant supporter, attending training camp and sharing positive updates on social media. J.J. is set to start the first full season as the Vikings’ starting quarterback as this announcement coincides with the anticipation.

After a tough year of being sidelined due to injury, fans flooded McCarthy’s section with support for the good news. Moreover, Fans across the internet joined the parade as a fan on X jokingly wrote “Dad strength incoming!” suggesting that fatherhood could give McCarthy’s game a different drive. Another fan saw the funny side as he wrote, “We Got Baby JJ Before GTA 6,” referencing the long-awaited video game.

J.J. McCarthy and Katya Kuropas sparked dating rumours back in 2018. Going to the Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park, Illinois, the couple shared the high school campus leading to their relationship. McCarthy made their relationship public with a heartfelt Instagram post for Katya’s birthday, writing, “I AM THE LUCKY ONE TO BE DATING THIS GIRL” in 2019.

After going out for almost five years, McCarthy and Kuropas got engaged in January 2024. Following his Draft selection, McCarthy proposed to Kuropas on a beach as they announced their engagement through a joint Instagram post.

Almost 15 months into their engagement, the couple is now happy to announce that they are about to start a family. Furthermore, Kuropas is expected to be due in September as fans and the football world are filling social media with the warm wishes.
