Kevin Durant was a part of the Shaq's OGs, the winners of the 2025 All-Star Game.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game has been in the headlines for quite some time now, for the anticipation before this weekend and now for its new format. After its conclusion in San Francisco on Sunday, February 16, the league had to face the wrath of fans and few players for organizing the All-Star Game in a new format, which led to a major drop in actual gameplay across all three games.
The idea behind coming with a new format was to enhance audience engagement, but with only 34 minutes of basketball action, the league once again failed to capture the attention of fans.
While many players including Warriors’ veteran Draymond Green expressed their disappointment, Phoenix Suns’ star Kevin Durant slammed fans for complaining rather than actually watching the NBA.
Durant, who was a part of the 2025 All-Star Game winning side, Shaq’s OGs, took to social media to say that people find it fun to complain than watch it. The 15-time All-Star wrote on X, “I think it’s more fun to complain about the nba than to actually watch it.”
I think it’s more fun to complain about the nba than to actually watch it. Crazy, cancel all star weekend and let’s just give everybody a break since we’re so miserable around this time…

Not only this, but he also sarcastically suggested that the NBA should cancel the weekend and give a break. He added, “Crazy, cancel all star weekend and let’s just give everybody a break since we’re so miserable around this time.”

There have been reports that the NBA is considering the addition of 1v1 contest from the next edition of the All-Star Game, along with a few changes.
When asked about the idea, Durant replied that it would be “a cool addition to All-Star Weekend”. He was also asked to pick the name of the player who would give tough competition to his rivals, to which he responded by taking his own name.
“Of course, I would have to go with myself,” Durant said. “There’s so many great 1-on-1 players in our league. I don’t think it would be easy to predict who would come out on top”, he added.
However, later, Durant picked Victor Wembanyama and Jayson Tatum as his two picks. “But if I had to say one guy, it’d probably be Wemby. I’d add Tatum in there, too.”
