“It Was the Best Look” – Aaron Gordon’s Ice-Cold Dagger Lifts Nuggets Over Thunder in Playoffs Shocker

Akash

Aaron Gordon has etched himself as the best clutch player in the NBA 2025 playoffs. The forward just can’t stop making match winners in the death. Gordon, who lit the court at the Intuit Dome almost a week ago, has done something similar, stealing the game from the jaws of 1st seed.

Gordon, describing the thrilling sequence of events, said, “The right play. Russ makes the right play. I saw the paint and thought it was the best look we could get. Great poise with this team. Murry, Jokic Westbrook. All stepped up. It feels good, but I am just trying to make the right play.”

This marks the second clutch match winner from Aaron Gordon after a dagger against the LA Clippers in game 4. It was a moment that changed the first round series for the Denver Nuggets. Will something similar happen in the series against OKC Thunder? Only time will tell.

But the Nuggets have stolen momentum and home court advantage from the OKC Thunder. The debate before the game was if the Nuggets were going to avoid a clean sweep after tiring themselves out against the Clippers in the seven game series. However, that argument has fallen flat with Gordon’s winner.

Nuggets Start Slow but Aaron Gordon Rescues

The Thunder vs. Nuggets series was off to a brilliant start, with both teams fighting it till the end for game 1. Denver Nuggets despite lagging for most of game 1 made considerable recovery in the fourth quarter. OKC blew a double-digit lead, which gave room for the Nuggets to crawl back.

The home team led the first quarter by 27-26. While the second quarter was even better from them having a score of 33-24. The Denver Nuggets cut short the deficit after halftime. They carried that momentum into the fourth quarter and did the unthinkable.

The Thunder shuffled a lot with their lineup during the last phase of the game. With almost a minute to go, they brought in a small lineup to counter any offensive drive of the Denver Nuggets and force them into three pointers. While in the dying seconds of the game, OKC brought the bigs with a one point game.

Thunder and Nuggets both played the foul game to avoid any three pointer risk. With just a handful of seconds to go, Aaron Gordon was wide open, delivering the death blow from beyond the arc. The Denver Nuggets won the first game by 121-119.
