Chiefs anticipate key returns as Isiah Pacheco and Charles Omenihu set to bolster lineup for Week 11
The Kansas City Chiefs have excelled as the top team in the NFL during the season’s first half, and indications suggest they will improve further in the weeks ahead.
Following several weeks without running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive end Charles Omenihu on the active roster, the Kansas City Chiefs have revealed that both key players are being activated from the IR.
Omenihu has not yet played this season after experiencing a torn ACL in 2023. Now, both will be part of a perfect team that keeps on staying strong
Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco has been placed on injured reserve since he injured his fibula in Week 2. There were claims that he might come back sometime in November. That schedule now appears feasible.

If and when the Chiefs choose to designate Pacheco for return, it would create a 21-day period for him to be included on the active roster.
The Chiefs brought in Kareem Hunt after Pacheco was injured, and that decision has proven beneficial. Hunt, currently in his second tenure in Kansas City, has accumulated 449 yards and five touchdowns over six games. He has maintained a modest average of 3.6 yards per carry, yet he has been quite effective.
Pacheco, a past seventh-round selection, is currently in his third year with the Chiefs. Most anticipated he would have a breakout year before his leg injury. Although that is no longer feasible, he can still significantly impact Kansas City in the final games if he comes back fit.
Entering his second season with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, Charles Omenihu has shown steady growth in his NFL career. Originally drafted by the Houston Texans as the 161st overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft,
Omenihu was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2023 sixth-round pick before eventually signing with the Chiefs in March 2023. Highlighting his progress, he recorded a career-high 7.0 sacks for a loss of 49 yards in 2023, including a streak of six games with at least half a sack, establishing himself as a reliable defensive asset.
Pacheco was intended to be the top running back for the Chiefs, but a leg injury has kept him out since Week 2. The fast running back gained 135 rushing yards and scored one touchdown prior to the injury, along with 54 yards receiving.
In 2023, Pacheco achieved 935 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns, as well as 244 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
