Inter Milan vs Roma Serie A – Injury News, Match Preview and Predicted Line-Ups

Abhinav Goel

The defending champions will be in for a stern test here as Roma have collected more points this year than any other Serie A side.

After a disappointing week that saw them slip against Bologna and bow out of the Coppa Italia at the hands of city rivals AC Milan, Inter Milan will be desperate to bounce back when they host Roma side on Sunday. With Napoli now level on points in the Serie A title race, Simone Inzaghi’s men must regroup quickly to keep their Scudetto defense alive.

On the other hand, Roma are riding high under Claudio Ranieri and are currently on an impressive 19-game unbeaten streak in Serie A. Fresh from a narrow 1-0 win over Verona, Roma’s impressive revival has reignited their top-four hopes. Remarkably, Roma have conceded just eight league goals in 2025 and have collected more points this year than any other Serie A side. As a result, the defending champions will be in for a stern test here.

Inter Milan Injury News

Inter Milan will be without Alessandro Bastoni and Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Sunday’s clash, with both players serving one-match suspensions. Marcus Thuram also remains a doubt, which could opening the door for Joaquin Correa or Marko Arnautovic to partner Lautaro Martinez in attack.

Denzel Dumfries and Piotr Zielinski have returned to training but are likely to start on the bench as they build up match fitness. In goal, Yann Sommer is expected to return to the starting XI, while Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is likely to replace Kristjan Asllani in midfield.
