Caitlin Clark shows she won’t be bullied as on-court tension with Rhyne Howard boils over

Things are getting heated up real fast in the WNBA this season. Caitlin Clark, who has been at the center of it all clashed once again during the recent matchup against the Atlanta Dream. It was all chippy between her and Rhyne Howard, which prompted other players to intervene.

During the last few seconds of the first quarter, Indiana Fever had the possession. Caitlin Clark while dribbling towards the half way line had to face Rhyne Howard’s gritty defense. The Atlanta Dream applied suffocating defense, with Rhyne Howard aggressively bodying Clark near the halfway line.

The tension escalated post-whistle, as both players squared up, refusing to back down. Caitlin Clark faced her opponent with aggressiveness. This led to the on-court players and officials to intervene and separate Rhyne Howard and Clark.

Indiana Fever Comeback Despite Caitlin Clark off Game

The Indiana Fever went on to win their third WNBA game of the season against the Atlanta Dream. The hosts beat the top team by 81-76. And this win came without any larger help from Clark. The 23-year-old had 11 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists with a 0-5 3PT.

It was Natasha Howard’s efforts that guided Fever towards victory. She scored 26 points with 7 rebounds to her name as well. The confrontation seemed to ignite Rhyne Howard, who dropped 24 points in a losing effort. Indiana Fever now have two wins and one loss to their name.
