“I will see them when I see them” – Klay Thompson opens up on relationship with Steph & Draymond

Klay Thompson will reunite with Steph Curry and Draymond Green during the NBA Cup clash between Warriors and Mavericks.

Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson is returning to his former home for the NBA Cup clash. Golden State Warriors will take on the Mavericks at Chase Center in California. As the Warriors reunion looms, Thompson dropped a major update on his relationship with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

A successful trio in NBA history for the Golden State Warriors

Following his signing with Dallas this off-season, the 34-year-old had played for 11 years with the Warriors and achieved glories in the NBA. During his 11-year stint with the Warriors, Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, and Draymond Green were among the most successful trios in NBA history.

The trio won four NBA titles and appeared in 518 wins in the regular season and playoffs combined. They secured 98 playoff wins that rank third in NBA history among 3-plyer groups. He formed one of the most iconic duos in NBA history with Stephen Curry, known as the “Splash Brothers.”

What Thompson feels ahead of the Warriors reunion?

Warriors fans are excited to watch all three players on Bay Area but Thompson won’t alter his focus as he considers this game the regular season game. Marc J. Spears of Andscape talked to the Mavericks star and tried to peer into his mind with the insight that the iconic trio hasn’t been in contact since his departure.

Klay Thompson speaks, “That chapter is over. I’m in the midst of trying to win here. There is no point in missing anything when we have such a great opportunity here to be great. There’s no point in looking back… I got to look forward. I got to try to give my best self here.”

“I’m locked-in. Not really,” the former Warriors superstar said when asked if the trio stayed in touch. “I will see them when I see them. That’s it.”

An unlikely admission from Curry and Green on Thompson’s homecoming

Warriors are honoring the homecoming of Thompson with a video message that includes a speech from Steph Curry. Thompson revealed to Marc J. Spears that Warriors fans will appreciate it more so than he will. He added, “I guess it’s a good thing for the fans. So, kudos to that.”

Stephen Curry was asked about facing the Mavericks and Thompson on Tuesday night and it was hard for him to get right words on the homecoming of his former teammate. “We’ve had homecomings before,” The 36-year-old said, “but nothing like this with the level of impact.”

However, Draymond Green tried to divert the attention from the topic during the press conference on Sunday night. Green focused more on the NBA Cup clash and avoided taking the name of Klay Thompson. He said, We bombed it last year, and I’m looking forward to having a better turnout in it this year.”
