Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is going through a recovery process in a strained hip. The 25-year-old faced injury against the Los Angeles Lakers on November 06 during the third quarter. He tried to catch a lob pass but was destabilized by Lakers’ Christian Koloko. The NBA franchise provided valuable information regarding Morant’s injury as he is considered week-to-week.
Following the Lakers game, the Grizzlies confirmed that Morant had a severe right hip flexion. On Saturday, the franchise also revealed a posterior hip subluxation, along with several Grade 1 pelvic muscle strains. No foul was called on the play after the collision. Morant completed the game but went slow and was asked to go into the recovery process.

The Memphis point guard missed out the next game against the Wizards where the hosts secured a 128-104 victory. He was using crutches to support his injured hip when he came to support the team. Grizzlies will monitor the recovery weekly basis. It means, he may miss a couple of more games due to injury. Memphis will resume their three-game road trip tonight with a first game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Morant had a tough season in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzlies. The hip strain was not the first injury this year. The 25-year-old hurt his ankle during the pre-season. Grizzlies played without Morant in a regular season game due to soreness in his right thigh. The hip injury against the Lakers is a fresh one and already missed one game.
Morant is averaging 20.6 points and 9.1 assists per game after appearing in the first eight games this season. Morant’s injury will push other players to step up for the Memphis ahead of the crucial road trip. Grizzlies are likely to take on the Trail Blazers, Lakers and Warriors on the road without Morant.
