Red Bull Racing is undergoing a big managerial change. Not long ago, the team was struck with various issues about their second driver. They were changing drivers left and right hoping to find a perfect match for Max Verstappen. However, as of recently, the team has let go of their highly successful and famous CEO and team principal, Christian Horner. The Austrian outfit chose to side with Laurent Mekies for driving the team forward as the CEO.

On the other hand, the team in question is current facing the daunting repercussions of their decision. This includes the various talks about Max Verstappen’s departure to Mercedes. Christian Horner Set to Receive a Payout of £50 million

The shocking exit of Christian Horner was not easy for the team to make. Horner was contracted by the team until the end of the 2030 Formula 1 season. With 5 years left on his contract, Horner is now eyeing a huge settlement sum from his former team. As per reports from Planet F1, Christian Horner’s earnings in the year 2023 were nearly £8.915 million.

The site also suspects that Christian Horner might have received a pay hike following Max Verstappen’s title winning campaign last year. The total sum that Christian Horner may end up claiming from Red Bull Racing will be nearly £50 million. Including other income, the site suggests that he could gain anywhere close to £60 million for leaving the team.

Christian Horner had a huge impact on both Red Bull owned teams. The sponsors of Racing Bulls- Visa and CashApp found their way into the team’s sponsorship list thanks to Christian Horner’s influence.

When there were talks about Christian Horner switching to Ferrari, a key detail was revealed about his contract with the team. Horner was ready to leave for Ferrari in 2022 and Red Bull had to convince with all they had. According to Helmut Marko, Red Bull Racing had to pay Horner a “few extra millions” to keep him in the team two years ago.
