In their 109-80 loss against Timberwolves, LeBron James had an uncharacteristic display on the court.
Veteran guard LeBron James failed to replicate his best version in the NBA as the Lakers faced a shocking 109-80 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 39-year-old looked in worst form to see his side posting a record of the lowest-scoring game in James’ era at Lakers. It’s been a rough stretch for the Lakers legend, who’s planning his retirement next season.

The Lakers fell to 12-9 after five defeats in seven games. LeBron James & Co. managed only 20 points in the first quarter and didn’t improve since then. Los Angeles never scored more than 24 points in a quarter, turned it over 21 times and shot just 41% from the field and 19% from 3-point range.
Gobert led the Wolves with 17 points, 12 rebounds and a steal, while Reid contributed 15 points. The latter blocked an attempt from James. Julius Randle added a team-high 18 points and Nickeil Alexander-Walker chipped in 15.
Russell was the only dependable player for the Lakers, who finished with a team-high 20 points. Anthony Davis chipped in 12 points, added 11 rebounds, dished five assists and had a block. Rui Hachimura had 10 points on 4-5 shooting from the field.

In their 109-80 loss against Timberwolves, LeBron James had an uncharacteristic display on the court. He finished with a season-low 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and six turnovers, shooting 4-for-16 (25.0%).
Playing his 22nd NBA season, James was 0-for-15 from deep cover in his last four games, dropping his 3-point percentage to 35.7%. Lebron James is 3 for his last 26 attempts from the 3-point line, and surprisingly, he is 0 for his last 15 attempts. On the other hand, the Lakers shot just 32-for-79 (40.5%) and 6-for-31 from 3 (19.4%).
“We’re just not good offensively right now.” LeBron James said. “I think we spent so much time on trying to get our defense corrected that our offense just took a toll and took a back seat to that.”
