The Warriors were without Curry for second straight game.
The Golden State Warriors suffered their second straight defeat, falling to the Miami Heat in an embarrassing 112-86 loss on Tuesday, March 25. Apart from being Jimmy Butler’s first game against his former team since the trade, it was the second straight game that saw the absence of their superstar Stephen Curry.
After the loss, the Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shared an update on Curry’s injury status while revealing his return timeline. Kerr revealed that Curry had a workout session a day before but made a movement which didn’t feel right. With the playoffs approaching, the Warriors didn’t want to risk it.
“He wasn’t quite there, we just can’t risk it. He worked out yesterday and he looked good but at the very end of the workout, one movement that didn’t quite feel right.”
Kerr also talked about Curry’s possible return to the lineup. He said, “Knowing the schedule, when we have got next two days off, I think it will be a full week when he returns.” The 59-year-old went on to say that the Warriors expect Curry’s return during their clash against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Kerr went on to reveal, “We expect him to return in New Orleans, we will see. It will be called day-by-day but we are kind of expecting that he would play then. That would be a full week off. I can really take care of the injury and it regenerates, recharges the batteries. So I think this is a good plan.”
Curry, 37, suffered a pelvic contusion during the 117-114 win over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday, March 20. Curry traveled to Miami to join the side on their road-trip but his availability for the game was uncertain.
The Warriors head coach opened up on Jimmy Butler playing against the former team. He was all praise for Butler and said “he was very poised out there.” Kerr said, “I thought Jimmy handled it great.” ”He never seemed too emotional about it. He was talking to the guys on the bench trying to talk them through what we were trying to accomplish,” Kerr added.
He added, “It was their night though. It was just Miami’s night. They earned it with the way they played and the way they shot and so you move on. I don’t think Jimmy’s gonna spend too much time lamenting anything tonight.”
Butler had a forgetful visit to Miami, where he was welcomed with boos, cheers and a mute tribute video. He could contribute only 11 points, six rebounds and two assists throughout 29 minutes on court. His struggles were pretty evident, as he shot 5-of-12 from the field and failed to convert either of his two three-pointer attempts.
