When a champion athlete holds another athlete to the highest standards of the game, you know that it has to hold a certain amount of significance. The same is true in the case of former Packers and current Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers, now 41 years old, is at the fag end of his career, and the past couple of seasons have been a struggle. However, prime Aaron Rodgers was one of the best signal callers to ever put foot on the football turf. But don’t take my word for it, as this comes directly from the legend himself, Tom Brady.

Brady Believes Aaron Rodgers Is the Best He Has Ever Seen

Former Patriots legend and true football great, Tom Brady, did not shy away from giving his flowers to Rodgers and his ability to throw a football. In fact, Brady, who appeared on the Pro Football Focus podcast hosted by Cris Collinsworth, spoke highly about the veteran signal caller.

As Rodgers’ great career winds down, Brady was asked what the Steelers quarterback needs to do to have a top walk-off moment from the game. The 7-time Super Bowl winner didn’t hesitate while praising his former counterpart for his superb ball-throwing skills, calling him the greatest thrower and passer of the football in the history of the NFL.

“Aaron’s proven that he’s won a Super Bowl, many championship games. He’s a winner, and I think what I’ve always appreciated about him, what everybody does, is his ability to throw a football and pass it. It’s like Aaron in his prime to me is the greatest passer of the football the league’s ever seen. He could get the ball from point A to B faster and more accurate than any player, I think, in the history of the NFL.”

What Makes Rodgers So Great?

When it comes to pure football throwing ability, Rodgers is on a different level than most of the other quarterbacks in the league. While he may have only one Super Bowl to show for all his talent, this game is a team sport, and seldom has he been the reason for crucial postseason losses.

Nevertheless, numbers don’t lie, and that is where he stands out among his peers. On the individual front, Rodgers is a 4-time NFL MVP, which is second only to Peyton Manning, who has 5.

Rodgers also holds the NFL record for the highest ever single-season passer rating of 122.5, which he achieved in the 2011 season. He has led the league in passer rating in four different seasons, and also holds the career passer rating record with 102.6.

With nearly 63,000 passing yards from over 8,200 passing attempts, Rodgers has thrown 503 career touchdowns as opposed to just 116 interceptions. He holds a career completion percentage of 65.1%.

Following a couple of down years in New York with the Jets, Rodgers has now moved on to Pittsburgh this season. This move gives him a chance to once again prove his talent, and with the defense that the Steelers have, who knows, maybe they could even be contenders for Super Bowl LX. One more ring would certainly add more value to the already incredible legacy he is sure to leave behind.
