On Monday, 02/25, the Golden State Warriors (30-27) will host the Charlotte Hornets (14-41) in an inter-Conference Regular-Season match-up. The Warriors are 9th in the West while the Hornets have sunk to the 14th position in the East. Will this be a walk in the park for the Dubs? Read about the preview, total predictions, and player props here.
Warriors: Jimmy Butler has been a breath of fresh air
The Golden State Warriors will enter the match-up after an emphatic 24-point win against the Dallas Mavericks behind a 30-point explosion by Stephen Curry. It was their third straight win in a row and they are now 5-1 since acquiring Jimmy Butler. During the 6-game period, the Dubs have put up 121.1 PPG(7th), up from their season average of 112.5 PPG. Apart from that, Butler has elevated their defense as the squad has given up just 106.8 PPG(4th), compared to their season average of 111.4 PPG.
Expected Starting Lineup
PG: Stephen Curry | SG: Brandin Podziemski | SG/SF: Moses Moody | SF: Jimmy Butler | PF/C: Draymond Green
Injuries: Jonathan Kuminga is OUT.
Hornets: No relief in sight
The Hornets will come into this affair after playing against the Sacramento Kings on the previous night. Before that, they had suffered an embarrassing 53-point beatdown against the Portland Trail Blazers. They have suffered a 10-game, an 8-game, and a 6-game losing streak already. It is the same old story for the franchise again as they keep building through the draft, but continue to be directionless.
Expected Starting Lineup
PG: LaMelo Ball | SG: Nick Smith Jr. | SG/SF: Josh Green | SF/PF: Miles Bridges | C: Mark Williams
Injuries: To be updated later.
The Hornets will come into this game after playing against the Kings on the previous night. While their defense has been decent, the exhaustion can pave the way for a lot more easier looks. Meanwhile, the Warriors are on fire since trading for JB and have crossed 120+ points in four of their last six games. I expect them to put up 125+ points here again.
Projected Predictions:
Stephen Curry to explode for 30+ points: The Warriors guard has played his basketball in February, accumulating 29.7 PPG. He has scored 30 or more five times already this month and will likely make it six against the Hornets.
Buddy Hield to score 13+: The Warriors SG is one of the most inconsistent players in the league. He followed a 22-point night by a 3-point effort against Dallas and has five single-digit scores this month. However, I see him go near the 15-point mark here.
Miles Bridges to be held under 20 points: The Hornets forward has tallied 22.6 PPG in February, bringing the best offensive arsenal for the Hornets. However, I see Butler and Green limiting him to below 18 points here.
Jusuf Nurkic to grab at least 9 rebounds: The Hornets center is averaging 8+ RPG since becoming a part of the team. I believe he will pass the mark here as well.
The Warriors are the heavy favorites here and it will be a miracle if the Hornets win this game on the heels of a back-to-back. It is a no-brainer to select the Dubs here so the bigger question is about the spread. I wouldn’t be surprised if they fetch a 20+ points win here.
Spread Suggestion: Warriors -18.5 for +110 at BetMGM

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
