Golden State Warriors’ Brandin Podziemski Undergoes Successful Wrist Surgery

Golden State Warriors’ guard Brandin Podziemski underwent a successful surgery on his left wrist on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The 22-year-old is expected to make a full recovery and join the rest of the team at the beginning of the training camp. The announcement was made by the Warriors, whose 2024-25 campaign came to an end after they were handed a Western Conference Semifinals loss by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

It came as a surprise as it remains unclear when Podziemski suffered his wrist injury. The 22-year-old, who was drafted by the Dubs as the No. 19 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, played a total of 64 games this past season, starting in 33 of them. He averaged 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists for the side, while shooting 37.2% from the three-point line and 75.8% from the free throw line.

However, his performance in the playoffs was a bit underwhelming, except his 28-point performance in Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, it now seems that he was struggling with his wrist injury all this while. He is not the only Dub to undergo surgery this off season. Last week, Moses Moody had to undergo a medical procedure to repair a torn thumb UCL.

Brandin Podziemski Signs Multi-Year Shoe Deal With Rigorer

Podziemski, who made it to the NBA’s All-Rookie first team following his impressive debut for the Warriors last season, has signed a multi-year shoe deal with Rigorer. According to Nick DePaula, under the deal, Podziemski will develop his own signature shoe. During the time of the announcement, he said that his goal for the upcoming season is to be the best version of himself.

The Greenfield-born said, “Growing up, I always dreamed of having my own signature shoes, and seeing the success of Austin Reaves’ line convinced me that Rigorer was the right choice. My goal for the upcoming season is to be the best version of myself and help my team win. Having my own shoes with Rigorer’s innovative design will help me achieve that.”

Coming back to the Warriors, the seven-time champions were dealing with a few injuries during the playoffs, including the hamstring injury of Stephen Curry. However, heading into the 2025-26 season, they would want to come up with a healthier roster.
