The New York Giants limp into Week 4 at 0-3, their season unraveling amid offensive stagnation and defensive lapses. Losses to the Kansas City Chiefs (22-9), the Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Commanders have exposed a lack of firepower, with the team averaging under 15 point per game and committing cost turnovers in each defeat.

Russell Wilson’s tenure as a starter has been a glaring misfire, marked by erratic play and a league-worst negative milestone: the first QB with back-to-back to throw for under 200 yards and no TDs, followed by a 450-yard outlier. Against the Chiefs, he went 18-of-32 for 160 yards, zero TDs, and two picks, with the fans fed up with their team. Overall, his 59.1% completion rate denotes that the decline is here, fueling coach Brian Daboll to make a crucial decision moving foward.

Coach Brian Daboll Announces Jaxson Dart As the Starter Moving Forward

In a recent press conference, Giants coach Brian Daboll firmly announced rookie Jaxson Dart as the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, making the decision to bench Russell Wilson after an 0-3 start.

“We’re going with Jaxson. We’re gonna get him ready to play, this week and the remainder of this season. Russ is gonna be the backup. I’m not gonna add too much to it. Those are private conversations. It’s my decision and we going with Jaxson.” Said head coach Daboll, firmly stating his plans moving forward.

Should the Giants Trade Either Wilson or Jameis Winston?

With Russell Wilson benched after an 0-3 flop and Jameis Winston still not played a single game this season, the Giants should absolutely trade either Wilson or Winston, and in this case Winston looks to be more appropriate.

By now it is more or less clear that the Giants have no immediate intentions to name Winston as a backup, let alone a starter, unless both quarterbacks get injured. So the best case scenario for the Giants would be to trade Winston away, in return for some assets from other teams who desperately need a QB, like the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 0-3 start to their season, early season QB role change, and fans’ frustration is starting to become a problem for the Giants. And things do not get any better as they now take on the red hot L.A. Chargers, potentially pushing this losing streak to 0-4.
