Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at Paris Saint-Germain appears all but over after a public fallout with the club. Following that, his agent Enzo Raiola named the Premier League as the likely destination for the Italian goalkeeper. The public rout began after PSG manager Luis Enrique’s comments on leaving Donnarumma out of their UEFA Super Cup squad.
The coach confirmed on Wednesday that leaving the player out for the clash against Tottenham was his own decision. Enrique stated, “I want a different kind of goalkeeper and I made this decision. Gigio is one of the best keepers in the whole world.” The omission follows PSG’s signing of Lucas Chevalier, signalling a clear change in direction.

Donnarumma released a statement expressing his disappointment after the coach’s statement, saying, “Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team’s success. I am disappointed and disheartened.” Raiola has been outspoken in his criticism of PSG’s stance.
He accused them of showing ‘zero respect’ after four years together. Speaking to Sky Sports and Sky Italia, he said: “Paris Saint-Germain are asking for big money. They talk about respect, but it’s only about the money. Perhaps only in the Premier League can they satisfy the club’s exaggerated financial demands.”

PSG are reportedly demanding around €50 million for the Italy captain. He only has a year remaining on his contract. Raiola revealed that Donnarumma had even agreed to a reduced salary to remain in Paris. However, negotiations collapsed after the club changed their terms. He added, “The last 10 days risk erasing four years here. I’m shocked by this disrespect.”
Reports in France suggest Manchester City have already agreed personal terms with Donnarumma after discussions with Pep Guardiola. City’s current No. 1, Ederson, has been linked with a move to Galatasaray. This would potentially clear the way for the deal.

Manchester United and Chelsea also showed interest previously but are believed to have stepped back from the race. Reportedly, the Red Devils are focusing on other positions. Raiola told journalist Fabrizio Romano, “Premier League is the right step for Gigio in my view, we’re working on it.”
Reportedly, legal action against PSG is also under consideration. Raiola concluded, “To completely dismiss Gigio after everything he’s done for the club is a huge lack of respect, which I will evaluate with my lawyers.” With the rift deepening, Donnarumma on his way away from Paris now seems inevitable.
