“Hurting the Team”- Fred Vasseur Dismisses Replacement Rumors at Ferrari!

Fred Vasseur became a part of Ferrari in 2023. The team was reeling in from a terrible defeat in the previous season. Vasseur put together the Maranello leading them one of their best seasons in the recent years. Everything looked good on paper, Vasseur even brought Lewis Hamilton to the Ferrari camp. But things went downhill really fast this season.

It all started when a random report started circulating rumors in the paddock. The word spread that Ferrari were trying to recruit the services Christian Horner and replace Fred Vasseur. Naturally, chaos spread among the fans and F1 experts alike. Everyone wanted to know if these rumors were the real deal, or was it just a random fantasy. Then, the statements started coming in. Christian Horner was the first to deny any involvement with Ferrari. Recently, the Maranello outfit also clarified their stance on the story spreading about Fred’s sacking.

Fred Vasseur Calls Out Replacement Stories as “Disrespectful”

Fred Vasseur has a great relationship with his drivers. Lewis Hamilton publicly acknowledged Fred’s role in him joining Ferrari. Hamilton has expressed disapproval at Vasseur’s replacment in Ferrari.

Fred Vasseur on the other hand was rather calm about the situation. He was confident that he can easily handle such rumors. However, he did not like the fact his team’s name was being dragged through the mud–

“I don’t know the target. I don’t understand the target. Perhaps it’s to give s*** to the team, but in this case, I don’t see the point. Perhaps it’s for them the only way to exist. This is probably more the reason. But it’s really hurting the team.”

“It’s, at one stage, a lack of focus, and when you are fighting for the championship, every single detail makes the difference. And from the beginning of the weekend, we are just speaking about this.”

Vasseur was quickly able to move on from these rumors. He made it clear that Ferrari have a set target and they are trying to achieve it every weekend. He also praised the team for the improvements and was confident that were doing a good job.
