Coach Didier Deschamps has recently announced the France squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League quarterfinals against Croatia. The focus of the announcement has been the return of the star forward Kylian Mbappe as the captain after six months of absence.

The Real Madrid ace was left out of the national team squad for France’s October and November group-stage matches last year. Les Bleus will face Croatia in two legs this March. The winner of the two legs will progress to the semi-finals, which will be held in either Germany or Italy in June.

France will face Croatia in the quarter-finals. France topped their group with four wins, one draw, and a defeat. Whereas, Croatia came in second in their group with two wins, draws, and defeats each after the group stage. Now the two teams will clash over a two-legged schedule for a spot in the semifinals.

France Squad Details for UEFA Nations League Quarterfinal

All eyes are on the return of the team captain Kylian Mbappe. In addition, the maiden call-up of PSG’s 19-year-old winger Desire Doue is in focus. He has impressed with 18 goal contributions in 38 games for PSG. Coach Didier Deschamps also had words of praise for the youngster, saying, “He is a very young player but an interesting one for us.”
