WNBA Draft Meets Fashion – Former Wildcat Georgia Amoore Walks in Russell Westbrook’s Wardrobe

Georgia Amoore walked the red carpet before entering The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City for the WNBA draft event. She donned a black leather-toned skirt with a uniquely designed jacket. However, there’s an interesting story behind the choice of her dress for the big event.

The wardrobe for Georgia Amoore’s historic day was designed by none other than Russell Westbrook. Though a very out-of-the-box collaboration, it certainly caught the eye of the press as Amoore walked the carpet. The man of the hour, Westbrook, was also present with the young basketball player. He donned a blue denim jacket and pants with a white punch of a designer shirt from his brand.

Russell Westbrook has not only been active on the basketball court for decades but also at the fashion scene. Even during his early career days in the NBA, Russell Westbrook was known for his bold and unique fashion instincts. He has repeatedly shared his love for designing wearables.

And as part of the long-standing interest, the Denver Nuggets star launched his fashion designing firm ‘Honor the Gift’ in 2017. The recent collaboration with Georgia Amoore is his biggest to date. Russell Westbrook was quite excited to blend a collaboration between the NBA and WNBA landscape, but more so in terms of fashion. That is how Georgia Amoore walked the carpet with the ‘Honor the Gift’ attire.

Georgia Amoore’s WNBA Beginning

Georgia Amoore launched a new phase of her basketball career after getting picked by the Washington Mystics. She became the sixth overall draft pick in the recently concluded 2025 WNBA Draft, fulfilling her dream to play in the WNBA. The 24-year-old made a name for herself playing for the Kentucky Wildcats in the 2024-25 season.

She averaged an impressive 19.6 points, 6.9 assists, and an FG percent of 42.3. The Kentucky Wildcats went on to finish their regular season in 5th place in the South Eastern Conference. She couldn’t lead her team far in the NCAA Championship this season as the Kentucky Wildcats crashed out in the second round during 2025 March Madness.

But Georgia Amoore will be hoping to add to the list of accolades with her WNBA side Washington Mystics. The Eastern Conference side had the most picks coming into the 2025 Draft. They picked Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen, Lucy Olsen and Zaay Green apart from Georgia Amoore. The Washington Mystics are looking at a massive rebuild with a young core for the upcoming WNBA season.
