Taylor Hall, the former Bruins standout, is drawing attention as the leading trade prospect in the league.
Ex-Boston Bruins star Taylor Hall is a player to watch as we approach the 2025 NHL trade deadline. The experienced forward is an upcoming unrestricted free agent (UFA) on a faltering Chicago Blackhawks team, leading to the anticipation that he will be traded. Considering Hall’s talent, there is no doubt that he will attract significant attention across the NHL. This is particularly true if the Blackhawks are open to keeping part of his $6 million salary cap impact.
Hall has experienced a somewhat subdued beginning to the season, recording seven goals and 14 points in his initial 30 games. However, lately, he is moving in a positive direction, recording two goals and four points in his past four games.
Teams that require additional experience and secondary scoring in their middle six should consider acquiring Hall’s services. If the Bruins find themselves in a playoff position close to the deadline, they might consider looking into developing him.
Hall was a significant player throughout his three years as a Bruin, recording 44 goals, 67 assists, and 111 points over 158 games. It will be interesting to observe whether Hall gets traded before the deadline from this point onward. If he doesn’t sign an extension before that, it appears highly likely that he will be traded.

This year, the Toronto Maple Leafs are excellent in defense but in offense not so good at all.

Comparatively, the Leafs rank fifth in goals against this year, when they were 21st last year. As a veteran, Taylor Hall has a very high hockey IQ, which would benefit Fraser Minten and Max Domi; it can push Bobby McMann to the fourth line, replacing Pontus Holmberg.
Holmberg isn’t much of a scorer to start with, so McMann is a better option anyway since the Leafs need another second-line winger badly.
If there’s one name that would be perfect for a team in Toronto, it is Taylor Hall. Hall is an incredibly skilled player who’s unclear only about his long-term future, as his pending UFA status suggests; he would likely be thrilled to join a team with a “home-town” tie.
It is also important to admit that it is hardly possible to have impressive statistics: 13 points in 29 games, but it should also be pointed out that Hall plays for one of the questionable teams.
However, Hall could use playing with John Tavares and William Nylander, as it is assumed that those three would mesh quickly.
