Carlo Ancelotti has had a questionable season in all competitions this year. Even though Real Madrid has suffered from injury blows several times, the charisma is seen faded towards the end of the campaign.

Following their 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey finals, the speculations of Ancelotti’s exit have erupted more than ever. With the famous journalist giving some major updates on the Los Blancos manager situation, the Italian could be making a challenging move this summer.

Fabrizio Romano: Brazil Confident in Securing Ancelotti as Head Coach

Brazil National Team has struggled all season, unable to find their form. The team is currently without a permanent manager. Dorival Júnior was fired on March 28, 2025, after Argentina beat Brazil 4-1 in a World Cup qualifier.

Ancelotti has emerged as the most favoured candidate after the vacancy at the Brazil squad. According to the owner of the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano, both parties have also spoken about the details of the move.

Quoting from his social media post, Romano reported:

“Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil have reached an agreement in principle for the Italian to become Seleção head coach for the World Cup 2026.”

Hinging on when the move can possibly be completed, Romano continued:

“The deal is valid from June, NOT after the Club World Cup.”

“Real Madrid and Ancelotti would part ways nicely with formal steps needed next. Brazilian Federation expect Carlo Ancelotti to be on the touchline already on the first week of June representing the Seleçao.”

“It’s always been a key condition for Brazil: sign before the FIFA Club World Cup, not an option to wait until July. Formal steps to follow now.”

Real Madrid who is heading toward a trophy less season as things stand have had a disappointing season. With the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, things haven’t actually when the Los Blancos’ way. However, with these rumours up, Florentino Perez have already lined up contenders to replace Ancelotti at the end of the summer.

With Romano claiming the move will happen before Club World Cup, Real Madrid could head into the FIFA tournament with a new manager. Ancelotti who has had a decorated career in the Spanish Capital will be in for a grand farewell. With possibly new challenges waiting for him in Brazil, the 65-year-old will hope to turn things around for the national squad.
