Newcastle United will take a trip to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Premier League finale on Sunday. Currently standing fourth on the table, the Magpies will be hoping to get three points to ensure their Champions League qualifications. With the packed standings and thin margins, Manager Eddie Howe will be keen to pick points after losing to Arsenal the last time out.

Everton who has 45 points out of the 37 games will play their final game at Goodison Park.  Everton has announced a significant financial milestone in its stadium naming rights deal. As part of this deal, Everton will relocate to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock for the upcoming 2025-26 season, marking the departure from their current home ground, Goodison Park.

Everton Injury News 

Everton’s final-day clash with Newcastle United on Sunday will be without Jarrad Branthwaite and Seamus Coleman. After sustaining hamstring and thigh issues, the Everton players were confirmed to be sidelined by manager David Moyes.

Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference at Finch Farm, Moyes announced that Jarrad is injured and will be unavailable for the match: 

“Jarrad is injured and won’t be available. He’ll be out for four or five weeks with his hamstring [injury]. It’s a big loss but we have to live with it. Seamus has a thigh strain so he won’t be available, either.”

James Tarkowski, Jesper Lindstrøm, and Orel Mangala were also unavailable for the Toffees due to groin, hernia, and knee injuries, respectively.

Newcastle United Injury News 

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe expressed optimism that Alexander Isak could make a comeback for Sunday’s highly anticipated season finale against Everton. Speaking on Isak’s fitness, Howe said: 

“Alex is doing OK. He hasn’t trained with us yet but has made good progress. The next few days will be crucial to his availability for the weekend. There is a chance. We will only play him if he is fit to contribute. We will leave the decision on Alex until tomorrow.”

Howe also provided updates on Kieran Trippier and Joelington as both of the players are yet to be back in training. He also said that they must stay focused and concentrate on what we need to do to secure the victory with the available players.

As Everton will set to bid farewell to Goodison Park, Several players from the Tofees will also leave throughout the summer. Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic, and João Virgílio will all be departing when their current contracts expire at the end of next month.

The Magpies will be aiming to clinch their Champions League spot as Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Manchester City breathe around their necks. Anything less than a win will put their spot in jeopardy as Howe and his team aim for their second qualification in three years.
