Erling Haaland has rewritten Premier League history. The Manchester City striker reached 100 Premier League goals on Tuesday night in a thrilling 5-4 win over Fulham. Haaland became the fastest player ever to hit the landmark in the process. Haaland struck in the 17th minute at Craven Cottage, meeting a Jeremy Doku cross with a powerful first-time finish past Bernd Leno.
The goal was his 15th of the current campaign and his 100th in England’s top flight since joining City in 2022. No one has reached the century quicker. Haaland hit the milestone in just 111 matches, smashing Alan Shearer’s previous record of 124 games. Notably Shearer still owns the all-time record of 260 Premier League goals. However, his record could soon be in trouble as Haaland’s goal-scoring pace looks almost unprecedented.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his striker afterwards. The Spanish coach called the achievement “insane”. He said, “Congratulations, it is incredible. What can I say? Today he was outstanding. He was unbelievable and got a fantastic goal. Enjoy it.“

The City boss added that he hopes the Norwegian remains “hungry to score more and help the team.” Haaland’s father, former City midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland, was in the stands to witness the occasion.
Speaking after full time, the 25-year-old said he was “proud” to join the Premier League’s 100-goal club so quickly but admitted he felt he could have scored more on the night.
“I should have had a hat-trick,” Haaland said. “A striker for City should score a lot of goals… that’s my job.”

Haaland continues a remarkable run since arriving in England. His record stacks up against some of the Premier League greats: Harry Kane needed 141 games to reach 100, Sergio Aguero 147, and Thierry Henry 160.
After scoring 36 goals in his debut season, 28 in his second, and dominating once again this year, Haaland is now being tipped as the most likely player to chase, and potentially surpass, Shearer’s long-standing record of 260.
