Fourth meeting between the two players!
No. 6 seed Daria Kasatkina faces a stern test to kick off her 2025 Internationaux de Strasbourg campaign. She will face 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu in the Round of 32 on Monday. It will be a battle between variety and power on Court Patrice Dominguez. As both players look to gain some momentum ahead of Roland Garros 2025, here’s what to expect in this marquee clash.
Despite struggling with inconsistencies and injuries, Emma Raducanu showed flashes of brilliance en route to a quarterfinal showing at the Miami Masters in March. The 22-year-old reached Round-3 at the 2025 Australian Open, and also made it to the last 16 in Rome last week – she was defeated by eventual runner-up Coco Gauff. “Every day, I’m trying to be the best version of myself,” Raducanu said after her Italian Open exit. She has won just under 70% service games on clay thus far, alongside 40% return games.
On the other hand, Daria Kasatkina is searching for some form. Having recently made the switch from Russia to Australia, ‘Dasha’ has an average 2-3 record on clay this year. Although the former Top-10 player started the year well in Adelaide, she has failed to move past the Round of 16 since then. At last week’s Italian Open, Kasatkina was defeated by Marta Kostyuk 6-4 6-2.
Daria Kasatkina leads the head to head against Emma Raducanu by 3-0. It will be their first meeting in 2025.
The first ever encounter between Raducanu and Kasatkina was in Ostrava 2022. The former Russian star prevailed in straight sets. She is yet to drop a set in three matches against the British sensation, with the most recent of these tussles ending in a retirement by Raducanu. Two out of three match-ups have been in the quarterfinal stage.

Raducanu has been unable to crack the Kasatkina code so far, and it is likely that the streak will continue on Monday. The Aussie will look to justify her seeding and go deep into the draw before heading to Paris. While Raducanu might put up a better fight than the previous encounters, Kasatkina will resort to plenty of drops and slices to prevail.
Prediction: Daria Kasatkina in straight sets.
According to the pre-match probabilities on the money like, Raducanu is favoured to win this match. She starts with a 54% chance of winning, and also has the odds in her favour when it comes to the betting market.

Daria Kasatkina Win: -110
