Elena Rybakina vs. Marketa Vondrousova Head-to-Head, Preview, Prediction, and Betting Odds for US Open 2025 Round of 16

Rudra Dubey

Battle of Wimbledon Champions as Elena Rybakina and Marketa Vondrousova Clash in US Open Fourth Round.

Ninth seed Elena Rybakina will square off against Marketa Vondrousova in a high-stakes fourth-round clash at the US Open 2025. Both are former Wimbledon champions, Rybakina in 2022 and Vondrousova in 2023, and both arrive in New York without dropping a set.

Vondrousova, a 2023 quarterfinalist in Flushing Meadows, has been clinical so far, cruising past qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva, 32nd seed McCartney Kessler, and seventh seed Jasmine Paolini. Each win came in straight sets, though all featured tiebreak tension. Rybakina, meanwhile, is into the last 16 here for the first time and has been equally dominant. She brushed aside wild card Julieta Pareja, qualifier Tereza Valentova, and 2021 champion Emma Raducanu.

The ninth seed has carried strong form into New York, shaking off a mid-season slump with semifinal runs in Washington, Montreal, and Cincinnati, where she was stopped by Iga Swiatek. She also lifted the Strasbourg trophy and made deep runs in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, London, and Berlin. In 57 matches this season, Rybakina has blasted 359 aces while winning 73.7% of first serves and a 41.8% break point conversion rate.

Vondrousova’s year has been more uneven, with injuries disrupting her rhythm and early exits, but she lifted the Berlin title with big wins over Aryna Sabalenka and Xinyu Wang. Across 24 matches, she has tallied 93 aces, holding 68.2% first serves and converting 47.6% of break points.

Elena Rybakina vs. Marketa Vondrousova Head-to-Head Record

Elena Rybakina and Marketa Vondrousova are at 1-1 in their head-to-head record. Their first meeting came in Moscow in 2021, where the Czech claimed a straight-sets victory. Two years later in Rome, Rybakina struck back with a dominant straight-sets win of her own to even the rivalry.

Rybakina’s power and consistency, coupled with her strong summer form, make her the favorite. Vondrousova’s variety could test her, but unless the Czech disrupts the Kazakh’s rhythm, Rybakina has the edge.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
