Egor Demin will play for the Nets in 2025-26 season.
Egor Demin, the Russian native, could be the quality non-American rookie in the NBA 2025-26. The former BYU freshman was selected by the Brooklyn Nets as No. 8 pick in the 2025 NBA draft. The 19-year-old guard has averaged 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists as a freshman. The 6-foot-9 ballhandler struggled early in Big 12 play due to a midseason injury but guided BYU to the Sweet 16, his team’s third in history. He Had the most assists (11) in BYU debut in program history.
The Russian guard could be the pick within the top 10 in the draft for his playmaking and size. Demin was selected in the first round and became BYU’s first lottery pick since Jimmer Fredette went 10th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. He also became the eighth BYU player ever selected in the first round. At 6-foot-9, he gives value to the team and teams can go for the 19-year-old Russian sensation. He was also named to FIBA’s Europe 20 Under 20.
