Former BYU Cougars guard Egor Demin started his basketball journey at the Moscow Basketball Academy (Trinta School). In September 2021, he signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid and played for the junior A team and Real Madrid B. With Real Madrid B, Denim averaged 15.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.1 steals. He helped the team win the 2024 Adidas Next Generation Tournament, where he averaged 16.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.

For college, he moved to the States and joined BYU as a five-star recruit. The Moscow-born was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week twice in 2024. In addition, he earned a Big 12 All-Freshman Team and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors in his sole season with the Cougars. He averaged 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists playing an average of 27.5 minutes per contest.
