On Monday, Feb. 3, the Phoenix Suns narrowly went down to the Portland Trail Blazers 121-119 at the Moda Center in an exciting NBA clash. The game saw Deandre Ayton leading the Trail Blazers with 25 points, game-high 20 rebounds and two assists, followed by Deni Avdija’s 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
While the Phoenix Suns recorded their second straight defeat, guard Devin Booker achieved a historic feat as he became the Suns’ All-Time leading scorer. Booker finished with 34 points, three rebounds and four assists, and with this, surpassed the Suns legend Walter Davis for most points in the history of the franchise. He shot 50.0% from the field, made 9 of 18 attempts, and came up with 3 of 8 three-point shots, with a 37.5% success rate.
Brooker broke the mark of 15,666 career points in a total of 642 regular season games for the Suns, in 124 less games than Davis played. Notably, the former player had been holding the record for almost 39 years.

After the game, Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer heaped praise on Booker and highlighted the contribution he has made for the Valley.
“You can see it, you go anywhere in the city and there’s Booker jerseys everywhere,” Budenholzer said.
“There’s such a mutual – I feel like Devin gives a lot to the city, and he gives a lot on the court. The city sees it and appreciates it. There’s a real connection and appreciation because he’s been here through a lot.”
“Any time you get drafted somewhere, you stay and have success, and you become a leader. I think that city always appreciates it,” he concluded.
The Suns will be up against the Western Conference table toppers Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
