Cam Skattebo will miss the rest of the season after suffering horrific ankle injury!
The New York Giants did not just lose another football game on Sunday, but also lost yet another crucial piece of its offense.
Rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who had been a revelation for the Giants is now out for the season after dislocating his ankle in the Giants vs Eagles week 8 game that took place yesterday.

Skattebo got injured on a 2nd and 16 pass play with a little over 8 minutes to go in the second quarter in the Giants vs Eagles game. Quarterback Jaxon Dart threw the ball in the direction of Skattebo, who got hit by linebacker Zack Baun and landed awkwardly on his ankle.
Following the play, it was evident that the rookie running back was in visible pain. The medical staff placed his foot in an air cast and carted him off the field. It has since been confirmed that Skattebo has dislocated his ankle, bringing an end to his rookie season in New York.

Skattebo’s fellow rookie mate, Jaxon Dart was seen on the sidelines getting emotional over the injury. Afterwards, following the game, Dart expressed his thoughts as he shared a heartfelt response to the media when asked about Skattebo’s injury.
“Yeah, I was devastated. It’s my boy man. So seeing him go down and obviously like reacting to what happened and that sucks. It’s the worst part of this game.”
The rookie duo of Dart and Skattebo have hit it off ever since joining the Giants in the offseason following the draft. The two youngsters share a special connection and compliment each other very well both on and off the field.
Losing Skattebo for the rest of the season is not only a crucial blow to the Giants, but it will also be a huge loss to Dart as he tries to lead New York in the upcoming weeks.

The rookie running back was one of the brighter shinning players on the Giants’ offense throughout the first seven weeks of the season. Having already lost top wide receiver Malik Nabers, Skattebo’s involvement in the Giants’ gameplan was all the more important.
New York benefitted from Skattebo’s dual-threat ability as the rookie sensation has 101 carries for 410 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns along the ground in his 8 games this season. Skattebo also has 207 receiving yards and 2 touchdown receptions from 24 catches, making him one of the more essential playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.
The Giants are now missing two key players on the offense, and with a 2-6 record, their season is as good as over. Making a push for the playoffs is nearly impossible for the G-men, but we can expect more good things to come in the second year from this electrifying duo in New York.

nfl I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
