The Detroit Lions have unveiled their 2025 NFL regular season schedule, kicking off on September 7 with a showdown against the Green Bay Packers, their rivals of 92 years, at Lambeau Field.

The Lions remain one of the few franchises yet to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. While they’ve claimed four NFL championships, in 1935, 1952, 1953, and 1957, those titles all came before the Super Bowl era. But momentum is on their side: if they make the playoffs again this year, it would mark their third consecutive postseason appearance, something that hasn’t happened in decades.

Their 2024 campaign was historic. The Lions not only defended their NFC North crown but also improved on their 12-5 record from 2023 with a dominant 15-2 finish. They secured the NFC’s No. 1 seed for the first time in franchise history. Yet, their postseason dreams were cut short in a stunning 31-45 divisional-round loss to the Washington Commanders, as key defensive injuries took their toll.
