Thursday’s pre-quarterfinal will be the first career meeting between these two youngsters. The winner of this match is set to face Dalma Galfi of Hungary in the last eight stage.

Currently ranked No. 39 in the world, Dayana Yastremska has the potential to break into the Top-20 for the first time in her career this year. The Ukrainian had an excellent grass court season – she reached the final in Nottingham and the quarters in Eastbourne, before upsetting World No. 2 Coco Gauff en route to the Wimbledon Round of 32. A former Australian Open semifinalist, Yastremska has reached Round-3 at all the majors in 2025 so far. She enters Hamburg with a 25-15 record.

Diane Parry is the French No. 3 at the moment. The 22-year-old is a former Top-50 WTA star, and is searching for her maiden tour-level championship at the German town. She downed two experienced campaigners in Petra Martic and No. 12 seed Diana Shnaider at Wimbledon this year, before falling to home favourite Sonay Kartal. Parry’s season-best performance on the pro tour is a Round of 16 finish at the WTA-500 in Strasbourg.
