Adam Wharton Sets Clear Condition for Man United Transfer Move

According to latest reports in English media, the Crystal Palace star will reject a move to Old Trafford if Ruben Amorim’s side fail to qualify for European competition next season. United have identified Wharton as a priority target for summer 2026 and are prepared to push ahead with a deal worth around £70m. Amorim views the 21-year-old as a perfect profile for his rebuild.

Wharton is composed on the ball and progressive in possession. However, despite being open to a move to Old Trafford, Wharton is unwilling to step down from European-level football. Palace currently sit in the sixth position while United are in 12th position. With Elliott Anderson and Conor Gallagher also on United’s radar, Wharton remains first choice. But the Red Devils will need to finish in a position that guarantees a European berth if they hope to convince Adam Wharton.
