Clippers vs Lakers: Will Luka Doncic make his Lakers debut tonight?

Swati Bhatia

Fans are eager to know if Luka Doncic will make his debut for the purple and gold.

The Los Angeles Lakers will enter in a new era this Tuesday with Luka Doncic joining their ranks. The superstar guard was acquired in a blockbuster trade over the weekend, sending Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick to the Dallas Mavericks. Tonight, the Lakers will face their city rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers who defeated them 116-102, in a dominant win last month.

It’s an exciting time for Lakers fans, but also a bittersweet one. Anthony Davis, who has been the heart of the team alongside LeBron James, is now gone. The trade will see Luka team up with LeBron James, creating a new dynamic for the Lakers offense.

But with Davis’ departure, the Lakers now face an uphill battle on defense. Davis has been the team’s top shot-blocker, averaging 2.1 blocks per game this season. Without him, the Lakers will need to rely more on LeBron, who will feel the pressure to keep the offense firing on all cylinders.

Luka Doncic (left calf strain), Maxi Kleber (right foot fracture), and Christian Wood (left knee surgery recovery) are all out for the game against Clippers.

As for the home team, the only player listed as out is Cam Christie (left ankle sprain).
