The Washington Commanders will be hosting the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night as the final match of week 2 of preseason football. Both teams are coming off a loss in their previous round, with the Commanders taking a beating from the Patriots and the Bengals losing to the Eagles.

Despite losing to the Eagles in week one of the preseason, Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and the first team looked well in the limited snaps they received. The Bengals will be looking at certain positions, such as safety and right guard, where competition is intense. A final receiver spot is also up for grabs.

As for Washington, the Commanders were blown away by the Patriots to the tune of 48-18. The defense will have to put up a better performance against Cincinnati. Heading into their second preseason game, the Commanders will be looking to move the ball efficiently on offense, while the key on defense will be to get quick 3 and outs.

The Commanders didn’t play their top starters in their previous encounters, but that is set to change tonight. Head coach Dan Quinn has already announced that Jayden Daniels and company are expected to see the field for a few series.

“For him and a lot of the guys that are going to get some of their first playing time, I would say it’s a little bit customized, but we’d like to see a few series and we’re excited to see the guys,” said Quinn.

As for the Bengals, head coach Zac Taylor has also confirmed that the first-team offense will be on the field in a limited capacity once again tonight. With the Commanders’ defense struggling against the Patriots last time around, and the Bengals putting up a tough fight against the Eagles, Cincinnati looks to be in better shape at the moment.
