Did the Chiefs make it to Denver? Latest update for the Chiefs vs. Broncos game!

Despite icy conditions in Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have arrived safely in Denver for their Chiefs vs Broncos matchup.

The Week 18 matchup between the Chiefs and Broncos was at risk of cancellation due to severe weather conditions.

However, all’s well that ends well, as the Chiefs successfully arrived in Denver despite the challenges.

The team faced over four hours of delays on the Kansas City airport tarmac due to “rapid ice accumulation” on the runways. Eventually, the Chiefs were able to take off and landed without incident in Denver, ready to play their final regular-season game tonight.

For the Chiefs, this game holds no real stakes. Having already secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a record of 15 wins and just one loss, they have little to prove. Head coach Andy Reid has decided to rest several key players, including Patrick Mahomes, who will be replaced by Carson Wentz.

Additionally, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, cornerback Trent McDuffie, left tackle Joe Thuney, and the running back duo of Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt are also expected to sit out the game.

For the Broncos, however, this matchup is crucial.

Following the Bengals’ 19-17 victory over the Steelers last night, the Broncos now face a must-win scenario to secure a Wild Card spot as the playoffs kick off next weekend.

If the Broncos lose, the Dolphins and Bengals will compete for the AFC’s final playoff berth. A win by the Dolphins against the Jets would seal Miami’s spot. If the Dolphins lose, Cincinnati could complete a miraculous turnaround to claim the last playoff ticket.
