CF Montreal vs Atlanta United – Over/Under Odds, Betting Tips and More

Abhinav Goel

Two of the Eastern Conference’s bottom clubs meet at Stade Saputo as CF Montreal host Atlanta United in a battle where both sides are desperate for points. Both Montreal and Atlanta have been among the sloppiest defensive teams in MLS this season. CF Montreal head into the weekend looking to build on recent positives despite an early Leagues Cup exit.

Marco Donadel’s side have been competitive since July, picking up four results and losing three times by just a single goal. A win over Atlanta would give them back-to-back league victories for the first time this year. On the other hand, Atlanta United remain winless in their last eight MLS matches and sit 14 points off the playoff spots with 10 games left.

Atlanta are yet to win away from home this season and they have scored one or fewer goals in 10 of 11 away matches. Despite their struggles, they’ve beaten Montreal in their last two meetings, including a penalty shootout victory at Saputo Stadium in last year’s wildcard round.

Let’s take a closer look at the betting landscape via BetMGM, highlighting over/under odds, total goals, and set-piece markets.

Neither side has shown defensive solidity this season. Over their last 10 games: Montréal average 1.2 goals scored while conceding 2.1 goals per match. Meanwhile, Atlanta average 1.5 goals and allowing 2.1 goals on average.

As a result, the Over 2.5 Goals line at –175 offers some value, given the woeful defensive record of both teams. Meanwhile, Over 3.5 Goals pays well at +155 and could be worth a small wager.

There will be plenty of scoring opportunities for Atalanta out there in the match and there is good value in backing Atlanta to score Over 1.5 Goals line at +116.

7.5 Corners-275+180
8.5 Corners-159+110
9.5 Corners+106-150
10.5 Corners+170-250

A wide-open game could lead to plenty of attacking chances and corners. Over 9.5 corners at +106 looks a good bet to back.

This game has all the makings of a high-scoring affair on paper. Both Montreal and Atlanta concede over two goals per game on average. Montreal’s defensive lapses at home, combined with Atlanta’s ability to create chances on the road make the Over 3.5 (+155) goals worth consideration. Meanwhile, a same game parlay of Over 2.5 goals + Over 8.5 corners at +175 stands out as a good combo bet.
