Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner Reunite in Queen City ahead of Cincinnati Open

Out of three Grand Slams this year, Sinner and Alcaraz faced each other in the finals two time.

World No. 1 and 2 in men’s singles, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are ready to roar for the first time in North American swing. Their US Open preparation kicked off in the Queen City where they reunited during the practice. Sinner and Alcaraz were seen together for the first time since 2025 Wimbledon final where the Italian ace had the last laugh.

Top two in the ATP rankings shared friendly words on the practice court ahead of this week’s Cincinnati Open. Sinner and Alcaraz both were not part of the National Bank Open in Toronto. Cincinnati Masters will be their first hard-court assignment since the Wimbledon championship.

Alcaraz-Sinner Makes Reunion ahead of Cincinnati Masters, Starts Preparation for US Open

The world’s top two, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz were seen on the practice court ahead of the Cincinnati Open. Alcaraz was asked what he’s been up to since Wimbledon final, the Spaniard replied “nothing crazy.”

The five-time Grand Slam champion talked to Sinner and told him that he spent his time with family and friends during the period. Carlos was in Spain and took a break ahead of the crucial North American hard-court swing. The duo will mark their debut in this hard-court season with Cincinnati Masters.

Jannik Sinner, who is the defending champion at Cincinnati Open, enjoyed the vacation following the title triumph at Wimbledon. The Italian ace is eying to defend his title at US Open this year and make three out of four at Grand Slams. Sinner won the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year. He also reached the final at Roland Garros but lost to Alcaraz in a thrilling five-set thriller.

Alcaraz trails Sinner by about 3,430 points in the rankings and he would look to make an impact on hard court this month. Alcaraz’s only hard court glory in 2022 when he claimed the US Open title. The Spaniard will get time to turn the table this year through preparation in Cincinnati. Last year, the 22-year-old lost to Gael Monfils in the opener of the ATP Masters. Later, he suffered a second-round exit with a loss to Zandschulp.
