After days of ambiguity, World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed his participation in the 2025 HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club in London. The Spaniard won the title here in 2023, but there were doubts regarding his arrival. After a hectic fortnight where he claimed his second Roland Garros championship in Paris, Alcaraz will travel to West London.

The 2025 ATP Queen’s Club Championships are set to take place between 16-22 June, 2025. The draw for the men’s competition was announced on Saturday, with several huge names confirmed to compete at the 500-level event. Last year, ‘Carlitos’ lost in Round-2 to British southpaw Jack Draper. He will be gunning to make amends.

After an opportunity to gain crucial ranking points at Queen’s Club, the 22-year-old will travel to Wimbledon – where he is the defending champion. However, his draw gets extremely competitive from the quarterfinal stage onwards.

Alcaraz will open his account against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on the Andy Murray Arena. Although the Spaniard is a potent threat on his day, the fast paced grass courts are not ideal for his style of play. He enjoys the red dirt, where grit and toil prevails. The five-time Grand Slam champion faces his first major test in the last eight stage, where a blockbuster clash against Ben Shelton could await him.

Provided Alcaraz makes his way into the semifinals, he could run into either Jakub Mensik, Holger Rune or Grigor Dimitrov. The Spanish sensation has a superior grass court record in comparison to all of them; however, Rune has already defeated Alcaraz this season. The last hurdle for the 2023 Queen’s winner will potentially be against his 2024 predator Jack Draper or No. 3 seed Taylor Fritz.

Can Alcaraz Face Sinner at Queen’s Club 2025?

No, Alcaraz and Sinner will not be facing off at the 2025 HSBC Championships in Queen’s. The Italian No. 1 is travelling to Germany instead, where he will feature in the Halle Open. The next possible meeting between the top two players in the world is potentially at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz Past Performances at Queen’s Club

The Spaniard made his debut appearance in West London during the 2023 campaign, weeks before he lifted his Wimbledon crown. He defeated Rinderknech, Lehecka, Dimitrov, Korda and de Minaur to capture his first ever title on grass. The championship also enabled Alcaraz to regain the World No. 1 ranking from Novak Djokovic.

Returning in 2024 as the defending champion, the top seed made a winning start by overcoming Francisco Cerundolo 6-1 7-5 in Round-1. However, he was toppled by local talent Jack Draper 6-7(3) 3-6 in the Round of 16 – relinquishing his trophy in the process. A month later, Carlos Alcaraz retained the Wimbledon men’s singles championship.
