The Carabao Cup is heating up as Manchester United and ten other Premier League clubs learned about their second-round opponents. The draw for Carabao Cup Round Two was made on Wednesday evening and it set up several exciting ties. Notably, the Premier League sides not involved in European competitions joined the fray in Round Two.
This is the final stage where teams are split into North and South sections. Among the big names entering now are Manchester United, Bournemouth, Brighton and West Ham. Notably, six-time winners of the competition, Manchester United will travel to League Two side Grimsby Town.
Newcastle ended a 56-year wait for a major trophy last season by beating Liverpool 2-1 in the final. The Carabao Cup Round Two matches will be played in the week starting 25 August, before the remaining Premier League clubs join the competition in Round Three.
